Dragon 100 Youth Chinese Leaders Forum


Program Name: Dragon 100 Youth Chinese Leaders Forum

Eligibility: This program is catered toward ethnic Chinese between the ages of 18 and 35 who have demonstrated outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement.

Brief Description: "Dragon100 Young Chinese Leaders Forum was launched by The Dragon Foundation in 2002 to network young Chinese leaders. They come from many parts of the world to join the programme to explore opportunities and share experiences. Annually, 100 outstanding youth of Chinese origin come from all over the world to participate in the programme (held in Hong Kong and China), discuss topical issues of relevance worldwide and form a growing network of young Chinese leaders."

Program Duration: ~1 week in mid to late August

Application Process: Applications are due in mid-June. Candidates must be nominated by universities, other educational institutes, organizations and/or corporations. Nominees should submit the following:

  • a completed nomination form with signed consent of the nominator and nominee
  • copies of awards/certificates or other documentation of academic/extracurricular achievement
  • a CD with a 300dpi passport photo
  • a copy of your passport/ID card
  • a completed application form filled out by the nominee

Miscellaneous: A panel of distinguished academics as well as professionals will review the applications. "They will be looking for candidates who are representative of their origin countries, are outstanding academically or professionally, are award recipients or are exceptionally talented in a non academic area."

Successful Hong Kong participants will need to pay a $3,000 registration fee, while non-Hong Kong participants will be responsible for covering roundtrip airfare to/from Hong Kong. All participants will need to cover their own airport taxes, visa fees, out-of-pocket expenses, and travel medical insurance. Dragon 100 will pay for transportation between HK and China as well as meals and accommodation for the entire duration of the program.
