Overseas Chinese Youth Study Tour in Taiwan

Program Name:

海外華裔青年台灣觀摩團 (Overseas Chinese Youth Study Tour in Taiwan); also known as OCAC "loveboat"

Eligibility: "Applicants must be overseas expatriate youth between the ages of 16 and 27 (copy of passport is required0 who are in good health and academic standing, currently live overseas, have a strong desire to learn and are willing to obey group regulations while taking courses."

Brief Description: "In October 1926, the Kuomintang government established the Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission to be the single administrative agency within the government to oversee overseas Chinese peoples' welfare. The purpose of the Study Tour is to learn about Republic Of China( Taiwan) and to promote international youth exchange."

Program Duration: 3 weeks (specify either January, July, August or December session)

Application Process: Submit the general information forms found on OCAC website (see below)

Miscellaneous: There is a 7,500NT registration fee required of each participant. There will be no reimbursement of the registration fee if participants leave during the Study Tour. Participants are responsible for their own round trip airfares to/from Taipei, visa fee, medical and travel insurance premiums and personal expenses. OCAC will provide accommodations, meals and transportation within Taiwan.
