U of M Bay Area Entrepreneur Experience




Program Name: University of Michigan Bay Area Entrepreneurship Experience (Bay Area Trip; BAT)

Eligibility: Enrolled U of M students, faculty and staff

Brief Description: BAT takes approximately 30 participants to the San Francisco Bay Area to attend presentations on entrepreneurship and tour tech company campuses.The program is built around a mock pitch competition, in which participants make 5-minute speeches to venture capitalists to receive feedback on their business ideas.

Program Duration: 3 days, usually during the last half of Michigan's spring break period

Application Process: Interested applicants must submit a 3-5 minute video pitch along with a 100-word statement on why they want to participate in BAT and what they expect to gain from it.

Miscellaneous: BAT is an invaluable experience for aspiring entrepreneurs at any stage of their business. All expenses are paid for, excluding ground transportation to/from the airport and airfare.
