Bloomberg B-Discovered Program

Program Name: Bloomberg B-Discovered Program

Eligibility: Graduating college seniors and graduate school students nationwide; Interest/background in sales or engineering is a must

Brief Description: B-Discovered is a 1-day program that brings its participants to Bloomberg's New York office. The day is comprised of presentations about the company and training programs for new hires in software development and sales/analytics. Students meet Bloomberg's president, have lunch with full-time employees and go through 1-2 rounds of interviews for full-time positions before ending the day with a building tour

Program Duration: 1 day in mid-February

Application Process: Interested candidates submit a standard application form along with a resume and cover letter directly to Bloomberg.

Miscellaneous: Bloomberg is a media/financial software/data mining company. As a relatively young and privately-held company, Bloomberg prides itself on retaining its entrepreneurial spirit and flat organizational structure. The B-Discovered Program has only been in existence for 1 year as of Feburary 2010. Another interesting fact is that B-Discovered is considered the first round of the recruiting process; once you've completed the B-Discovered day, you will be contacted within a week by HR as to whether or not you're invited back to NYC for second rounds. All expenses are paid for in both rounds.
