
Eligibility: Ethnic Chinese (paternal or maternal origin) and full-time undergraduates or postgraduates
Brief Description: CSP takes approximately 300 Chinese expats from around the world to tour some of the major landmarks in China and Kong Kong. Cities on the itinerary include Tuen Mun, Guang Zhou, Xi An, Beijing, Tian Jin and Shanghai. CSP "delegates" also enjoy privileges typically reserved for foreign dignitaries, such as dining in the Great Hall of the People, meeting with government officials and touring Olympic venues. The majority of programs are conducted in Mandarin or Cantonese
Program Duration: Between 2-3 weeks, usually in early- to mid- July
Application Process: A standard application form, along with the following supplemental attachments, are usually due in late January:
- Photocopies or pictures of awards or honors
- Recommendation letter
- Curriculum Vitae
- Transcript
Miscellaneous: 2010 is a unique year in that CSP is hosting a 10-year reunion as opposed to their regular program; therefore the application is a little different, as are the itineraries. Please see the "reunification" page for further modifications. CSP charges a nominal fee of $200 to show your commitment. Additional costs to consider are travel to/from Hong Kong, travel insurance and a 1-time entry visa; otherwise, all other costs are covered by the Programme.
