The Nestle USA Leadership Symposium

Program Name: The Nestlé USA Leadership Symposium for Diverse Leaders of Tomorrow

Eligibility: College sophomores and juniors in good academic standing at an accredited 4-year college in the US or Puerto Rico

Brief Description: "The Nestlé USA Leadership Symposium for Diverse Leaders of Tomorrow is a three-day intensive program designed for undergraduate minority students interested in a career in business who hold a leadership position in an on- or off-campus diverse student organization. A select group of 30 students will hear firsthand from global business leaders and senior corporate executives, gaining invaluable insight on leadership while networking with other future leaders from across the nation. The symposium is held in Glendale, California at the Nestlé USA Headquarters. Nestlé USA will arrange all meals and pay for related travel and accommodations."

Program Duration: 3 days usually at the end of April

Application Process: Interested students must mail the following application documents to California by the early February deadline:

  • Transcript
  • Resume
  • ~500 word essay on leadership
  • Recommendation letter from a university official
Miscellaneous: So this is the first program that I'm writing about that I have not actually participated in myself, but it definitely looks like a great experience. What's unique is that Nestle's symposium is open to pretty much any concentration - whether it be in Marketing, Finance, Operations, Engineering, etc. - which makes it sound like both a great learning as well as networking opportunity.

More Information: For more information on the Symposium and who to contact, please refer to last year's program flyer.
